Every bride is unique. That is why wedding dress designers celebrate an array of colors and styles.
Wedding dresses come with a variety of necklines; and depending on the particular shape, a bride may
decide to complement it with adornments. The following article addresses different necklines and offers
suggestions for supplemental decoration.
The asymmetric look is modern, so you may want to complement the style with a modern-looking necklace.
Longer necklaces that enable the wearer to wrap it around the neck more than once work well. For
something different, think about tying a corsage around the opposing arm with lace.
A halter neckline also reveals a good portion of the upper chest allowing for adornment. Think about
selecting a necklace with an accompanying set of longer earrings. The earrings can help compensate for
the lower neckline.
Bateau necklines lay higher on the chest (just below the neck). Choose a shorter necklace or choker
with this design. Be selective when deciding on earrings. Highly-conspicuous earrings, a bateau neckline,
and necklace may look too busy when used together.
V-shaped necklines provide more space between the top of the dress and neck. Think about wearing a
necklace with a center focal point. Stay away from necklaces that closely resemble the dress' neckline.
A scoop neckline gives you similar options to those present with wearing a halter-lined dress. In addition,
some brides opt for fine lace or elegant beading along the top line of the dress rather than choosing a necklace.
Like the v-neckline, the sweetheart shape beckons for an elaborate piece of adornment. This can be realized
through a choker or a medium-length necklace that ends well before the top of the dress.
