Looking Great in Photos

You are looking for a photographer, so taking pictures is not far off in your future. Do you want to look your best? Everyone does. The following tips can help you look great while taking pictures for an upcoming event.

Standing

Photographer Tip #1 - the chin

Cast your chin down when posing. This casts a shadow on the double-chin. Turning your head to one side makes the neck appear slender.

Photographer Tip #2 - the arms

Flex arms slightly and extend them away from your body. Keeping the arms against the body makes your arms appear bigger than they are.

Photography Tip #3 - the stance

Angled stances make subjects appear slim and create a dramatic look. Focus on being relaxed rather than posing for a fashion magazine.

Photography Tip #4 - weight

Standing on an angle forces your weight to shift to one side. Shift your weight from side to side to avoid appearing stiff.

Sitting

Photography Tip #1 - posture

Leaning back can make shoulders hunch forward. Also, reclining can force the stomach to bulge. Throw your shoulders back and lean forward about six inches.

Photography Tip #2 - legs

Many women cross their legs while sitting. It is better to cross ankles while taking photos. Crossing legs can make the calf appear bigger than it is.

Close-up

Photography Tip #1 - soften hair and enhance makeup

A tight hairdo can make a bride appear to be stiff or older. Loosen the hair while letting pieces frame the face. Attempt a natural look when applying makeup. Drink a lot of water and get plenty of rest.

Photography Tip #2 - smile

Try a light smile. Huge laughs can look great, but they also pull the cheeks wide to make the face appear bigger. Keep a happy face, but alter your facial expressions.
